Factory Controls is an electrical automation products distributor, servicing Geelong and the Western districts of Victoria. The business has distribution agreements with major electrical component manufacturers, including Omron Industrial Automation, Eaton, Kelco pump equipment and Vacon Variable Speed Drives.
My role consisted of business marketing activities (including creating fortnightly product update emails, direct mail material, Christmas promotions and gifts for selcted customers, and updating the content of the companies Business Catalyst website), General office administration tasks (including filing, customer information updates, administering and opening credit account applications, and general cleaning), answering telephone sales enquiries, and managing inbound and outbound stock deliveries.

  • Supported sales staff by providing detailed notes of sales enquiries, allowing rapid identification of products required, before the customers are contacted in follow up phone calls or email communication.
  • Completed multiple traditional and digital direct marketing campaigns. One campaign resulted in approximately $7000 of sales and enquiries, and another generating 15 registrations to a local trade show, the highest of all exhibitors, and generating a refund of a portion of the exhibition fees.
  • Provided support to the Managing Director and Business Development Manager to host business meetings.
  • Accurately packed customer orders to meet courier collection deadlines.
  • Produced 6 monthly product update emails, 2 special promotion mail and email offerings, Christmas closure notice and maintenance prompt letters, and Christmas gifts for selected customers.
  • Created material and content for use in social media, in line with promotional activity and business news.
  • Created a new template for MailChimp facilitating greater design options for the monthly newsletter, using Adobe Dreamweaver, on time for a Christmas deadline.
  • Designed and implemented Christmas closure notices, emails, and direct mail material, including a Send Out Cards campaign.
  • Created updates to the new company website hosted on the Business Catalyst platform, including adding products and blog entries.
  • Updated a trade expo registration pdf form, with fill able cells and the company logo, resulting in increased registrations attributed to the company, generating a partial refund on the exhibition fees.

Haymes Paint is an Australian owned family company, based in Ballarat, Victoria, that produces and sells quality paint nationwide through specialist paint retailers.
My role is primarily focused on delivering service to both retail and trade customers, mixing and matching colour samples, and general retail operation.

  • Worked with a team of 5 to meet sales targets and provide customer service.
  • Assisted managers to complete end of year and monthly reports and filing, and completing daily banking and trading reconciliation.
  • Fulfilling customer orders to meet delivery deadlines and courier collection times.

Geelong Gamers Guild, Geelong, Victoria

The Geelong Gamers Guild is Geelong's largest and longest running group for individuals intersted in specialist hobby games, including tabletop war games and role playing games. We provide an environment where individuals can meet others with similar intersts, and provide support material to introduce new players.
The group is managed by a volunteer committee, who donate thier time to organise special events, such as fund raising tournements and learn to play sessions. My role with the Geelong Gamers Guild now involves supporting the excutive and the other members to organise games and events.
