Summary

In 2011 I completed a Deakin University Bachelor of Commerce degree, with distinction, with majors in Marketing and Management. During my studies I maintained an average Distinction grade across all the units I studied and 2 positions of paid employment. I bring my ability to manage and juggle different interests to everything I do.

I am seeking an entry level position with a marketing company, that will enable me to take advantage of and develop upon my education and interest in the marketing field. I am particulary interested in the fields on direct and digital marketing, market segmentation and small business marketing.

Having worked for small businesses, I understand the competing pressures on managers and owners time, and the stress that can arise from poor business growth. I am always looking at ways that a small business can cost effectively develop and implement marketing programs, that have a measurable return on investment. What systems and methods can the business adopt that may improve their profitability in the simplest way? Does it make sense to have an email based loyalty list, or instead a business card based frequent purchaser card? Would online discount vouchers and specials provide greater impetus for customers to walk through the door?

Motivation

To utilise my skills, training and experiences in a career that offers growth and advancement potential, where I am constantly challenged to find creative solutions to the benefit of my employer and its customers.

The small business sector is a major employer with the Australian economy, but because of the small and independent nature of the businesses they are unable to undertake and compete against the marketing programs of large businesses. I would like to be in a position to provide assistance and training to these businesses, to make them more profitable and long term viable.
